Hey, Brands, would you please stop having this principle as your marketing compass?

“We as a brand should stretch every dollar to hide and ignore the faults, flaws, and even possible harms that our product carries. We should be all smiles and waves with our customers and ignore the public perception of our business.”

A Coca-cola example in a short (not true) story

Coca-cola is not good for you, it has more sugar in it than sugar has sugar in it. Sugar is bad, of course.

So, coca-cola goes on and makes some smart production and marketing moves. You know, zero sugar and heartwarming Christmas commercials.

When you drink coca-cola, sugar hits you, commercials take a subliminal seat, and you feel great after taking a sip. Imagine the feeling if it had “the real coke” in it…

These are all good moves for the company, and they know it by numbers.

But why is it that Coca-cola was never able to take a hit from the public, not try to spin it for once, and create a full-on sugar Coca-cola with a slogan “For Those Craving Sugar” or “Seriously, Just Coke No Burger?”

Public brand mockery is always trending on social media regardless of what is at the center of it. Some brands avoid it successfully, some own it, some get ruined by Doppelganger's brand image, and some…

Well, some have an unseized potential!!!

Here are the best examples of slogans I believe would own the game if they were 100% true about their business.

#1 Ben & Jerry’s — “Eat Away Your Feelings”

This one is self-explanatory and probably the riskiest slogan from the list. It might be a complete ricochet and cost them millions in lawsuits.

But hey, you never know if you don’t try, right?

#2 Pepsi — “When There Is No Coke”

Since the drink can’t really be any better than Coke, the company is already applying some bold marketing principles to fight off IGNORE.

This commercial is a fine example that Pepsi is willing to take the hit. And use a Wakanda suit to generate the kinetic energy and punch back with some force.

It’s probably hard to get a slogan that has the word “Coke” in it but it would be even more courageous if they tried.

Again, a risky move, but as Sheryl Sandberg says it:

“If you are offered a seat on a rocket ship, don’t ask what seat!”

Take a seat Pepsi, take an ACTOFPRIMALLOVEMAKING seat.

#3 MTV — “A ***** Television”

If you are already ***** censoring people who were recruited only because they ****** cursed in the first place, you should at least market yourself correctly.

If you are not already doing that. I don’t watch the channel that often, I like my brain the way it is.

#4 Monopoly — “A Great Way To Ruin Friendships”

She had that timeless presence, was always reliably calm and detached from all the drama. She had an inherent beauty and serenity, and then…

She started playing.

Turnes out she can turn into corporate megalord in a blink…😂
